La Contrada dei Monti - Destinazione

Orta San Giulio

It is a town of about 1200 inhabitants in the province of Novara. Listed in "I Borghi più belli d' Italia".

Absolutely to visit is the small island of San Giulio, accessible by boat or motorboat, dominated by the Romanesque basilica, the "Bishop's Palace" and the Abbey.;

The historical centre of Orta has dramatic and romantic outlooks, archbuilt houses, balconies and little towers, the first glimpse to the island caught from the narrow alleys.

Exactly in the medieval lane named "Contrada dei Monti", there is the hotel named after it, rebuilt in a 18th century house, restored following the very historical design.

The entrance porch leads to the garden, an idyllic corner framed by stone walls. Here there is just a fairytale atmosphere where guests can find peace and quiet.

The coat of arms echoes the nobility and history of the place. It is located on the floor of the entrance hall, where there is also a fantastic and welcoming fireplace.

Every floor is developed on arched loggias reminding of the building history and settings. The small corridors, almost giving a sense of getting lost in the soothing surroundings, conduct to the great rooms equipped with every comforts.

The incredible attention to detail makes the hotel "Contrada dei Monti" a true gem. In this unique place a peaceful magic is created through the local style architecture: exposed wooden beams, traditional wrought ironwork and closing fixtures, as well as furniture and paintings.
